Students are allowed to leave a snack/drink on the bus if they want/need to munch on something on the way home. 2. We are being driven by bus to Ann Arbor, with a few of the children being driven by chaperone. Marching band is very close to being full. It was nice seeing everyone and being able to see the last performance of this season’s main show in person. We are having doing a “Adopt-A-Raincoat” program where anyone can donate $30 and hand in the certificate with the donation – in which we will hang up the certificate in the band room for Drum Corps Videos all to see. Do NOT hand them directly to Maddie or Mr. Smigell – doing this may result of your forms accidently getting misplaced. Smigell also has some to share if you don’t want to make your own. Want to see them in action? Can’t wait to see everyone at band camp! Our first away pep band gig will be at Milford HS this week on Friday, Sept 12, 2008. Anyone in the Band Program is eligible to participate. It is a far drive and Smigell has decided to not have a Pep Band. Due to the size of our Marching Band, Drum Corps Videos we are in need of more raincoats to have enough coats for all the band members and to fill in the gaps in the available sizes.
Saturday, June 25th – Band members report at 9:30 AM to load band trailer. I didn’t get the results I was hoping for in Michigan marching band championships, both official and unofficial. Please get these papers and the initial payment in ASAP. Thanks to everyone who handed their forms and at least the initial payment on time. There IS still time to get into camp – but not much ! Need to get it right! We need people to really pony up the goods for tailgate this time (Even I will :). Tailgating runs on donations and there will be a sign up website link posted a few weeks in advanced on what is needed to make the tailgate run smoothly (either $3 per person or donated food/items). Check the entry below this one for details on donations and volunteering! There will only be the one meal at about 3:45pm/4pm. There will be no stops on the way home for a late dinner (since it was provided before Commencement started). Students will not have time to go home because they will be at the school and doing the parade and extra stuff.
Usually the week before a Home Game, that day’s schedule will be posted on the classroom board and on the blog. Please contact Mr. Herwig if you have a schedule conflict, or if you have any questions regarding the updated Marching Band Schedule. Have an awesome night off – everyone deserves it! It is an awesome night! Feel free to hand in the full payment w/ forms if you are interested. Handing in point sheets late may forfeit your points for the year – Please hand them in on time and to the labeled folder! Students are to have a late lunch prior to the report time. Organize a watch party with your family and friends and have some fun while you enjoy the performances of 12 excellent bands! Marching Band related – but just something fun / unrelated to the program that I figured a few students / parents may enjoy taking their family to.
Band students, show this to your parents! Most people either carpool with parents or drive themselves. Some perform indoor concerts that have many traditional songs. They have seized more and more of the lands of the Christians, have already defeated them in seven times as many battles, killed or captured many people, have destroyed churches, and have devastated the kingdom of God. Maybe keep an eye out for Part Two that highlights even more amazing college marching bands across the nation. More information on this by tomorrow. Come see Battle of the Bands tomorrow (Thursday 3/22) at 7:00 in the auditorium. Ask them what they see. Please see the Audition Page for preparation and Audition Request Form. During that span, it earned 140 page views and received two comments. These next two weeks are going to be ACTION PACKED! The Marching Band still has two practices scheduled for it. The Marching Band will change into their uniforms and then load onto the buses to go to the parade.
